Spring Summer Day-time Makeup

Sunday, April 27, 2014

If you follow me on Instagram or Facebook, then you're familiar with my rave about NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer.  I was given a sample of two shades, this is recommended because some may like a darker dewy shade or lighter. The first time I tried it I wore the lighter shade which is closer to my complexion, but this past weekend I wore the darker shade and I don't know where I stand, I like them both. I also got a sample of Becca's Primer. The first time I used it, I put it on my entire face but I prefer it only on my T-zone and also apply MAC's Natural Radiance Prep-Prime but use this all over (minus the t-zone). For under eye cover-up and highlighting, I would use MAC Pro Longwear Concealer. I have used this product for years, it is still one of my favorite concealer. Lastly, I apply a Skin-Finish Powder by MAC in Dark Deep. I also like using MAC's Blunt blush and/or Saddle eyeshadow (not pictured) to contour. I strongly recommend getting a sample of the tinted moisturizer and Becca primer and I'll just go ahead and say "You're Welcome" in advance.

Light and Casual

A casual look with heels? Yes, of course. I stepped out with an oversize jacket from Zara that I've had since last Fall. I never had the chance to wear it being that I was on hiatus from the outside world. This jacket is still appropriate for the Spring weather. I wore it with a plain tee (similar options here) and a pair of boyfriend jeans, both from Gap (similar options here) with one of my favorite peep toe sandals (also worn here).

True Match

Wearing Makeup Forever #36 Rouge Artist Instense and L'Oreal True Match in Cocoa

Finding the perfect foundation to match your skin can leave you with a lot of money lost for unused makeup. I mean, when it is applied by the rep from the beauty counter it always seems to be the perfect match. Then it takes the day you wear it from home and realize that it is too dark or too light. I'm a girl that love options and I don't mind trying new things even when I'm content with wearing the same foundation for the rest of my life. I started out with Bobbi Brown, then MAC, and then Makeup Forever, each were good for a while until I found something better. When it came to picking out a drug store brand I just wouldn't waste my time. I figured if I couldn't get a sample then there is no reason to go that route, until I had no choice but to buy it when I was out of town and left my liquid makeup bag at home. Long story short, I haven't worn anything else since I've tried L'Oreal True Match. (see recent blog post here) The moral of the story is don't knock it until you try it. A little of this "True Match" foundation can go a long way and is my go to for full coverage. Do you have a foundation you swear by? If so, leave me a comment on some of your fav's.
